THE JOINT CHIEFS, based in Northern California, supply the masses
with funk-driven jams straight from outer space. Opening their shows with pure spontaneity
provides a precursor to the unique workings of a band fully seasoned with just
the right elements of funk, blues, jam, rock, and a touch of rap by the one
& only Bryant Anderson a.k.a. Notorious B.R.Y.
Originally
formed by, guitarist, Anderson (also of Notorious B.R.Y.), The Joint Chiefs
have had various members of staff, however the newest crew has proven to be the
ticket. Guitarist Bob Tiernan teamed
with Anderson in 2003, following
his arrival in NorCal from the Denver, CO music scene (more on Tiernan). Drummer, Tom Boylan, collaborated with
Tiernan in various NorCal projects following the split of Santa Cruz touring band, Liquid
Foundation, joining The Joint Chiefs in 2004 (more on Boylan & solo project Holus
Bolus). Bassist, Joey
Tippett, is the newest member of The Joint Chiefs and shines as master of the
low end with much groove and DJ experience.
