ROBERT TIERNAN
The music of Robert Tiernan is, in essence, future music. With equal roots in jazz and rock, Tiernan delivers a sound that defies any certain label, yet remains solid, consistent, and new. His solo works are guitar-based, with an added showcasing of vocals, electronic programming, and psychedelic backdrops. His solo live set has become a looping two-amp wall of sound that defies anything you've ever heard.
Bob Tiernan’s sound has been refined by his collaboration with the many diverse projects he’s been a part of. From his involvement in the Denver, CO scene throughout the 90’s (with bands such as The Good Vibes Quartet, Windowpane, Acoustifuxx, Cactus Marco, Phantasmorgasm) to his current involvement in the Northern, CA scene (with The Joint Chiefs, Bob & Al Jazz Duet), Tiernan’s music continues to push the bounds of guitar, and of all music possibilities.
ROBERT TIERNAN appeared in GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE in February 2008.
Bob's newest recording, "Slowburn" is due in September 2011 and JSR is really excited about it....more news to come!!!
